yes, ke*th and p*dge are both way favored by the writers and staff over the rest of the characters of color, and yes there’s some racism playing on that, but you gotta admit p*dge is not treated like a punching bag, and ke*th at least faces consequences and is called out when he lashes out onto someone/makes a mistake, and if he is ever rude towards someone it’s not played off as a harmless joke.
If any characters are favored by the writers it’s lance and Allura two colored characters. This show isn’t racist literally all the characters are colored except pidge, matt, and Coran, because I’m pretty sure a majority of the fandom thinks of Keith and Shiro as Asian. Christ I thought Keith and Shiro were Asian without the fandom telling me.
Also what show are you watching Keith has barely been in the last two seasons, so if he really was favored wouldn’t you think they’d give him more screen time? Pidge also has representation for the lgbt community so she isn’t just a random basic character the fandom or writers “favor” she helps trans or non binary kids. So maybe watch the show before you go off.

second of all, the fact that we headcanon keith as asian doesn’t mean he is. the only confirmed race he has is ‘galra’. we just headcanon him as asian bc of his voice actor who is south korean. and he /is/ favoured by the show in the sense that he gets more screentime than any other character, except maybe allura, and even if he shows up only twice in a season he still gets those two episodes all to himself. lance has been used as a running joke throught the 5 seasons we’ve had so far, and has been reduced to an airless flirty latino trope on many occasions. please don’t say the show favors him over pidge or keith. it doesn’t.
and pidge isn’t lgbt. she just isn’t. there’s subtext, sure, but she has never been confirmed to be trans, and all there is in the show are hints. unitl anything is canon, it doesn’t count as representation. but even if she were trans, that doesn’t excuse her for being rude to the other characters of color in the show, or how the writers coddle her.
What show have you been watching? Keith doesn’t get the most screen time out of all the characters not at fucking all and yeah he does have episodes dedicated to him but that doesn’t mean anything because if I remember correctly hunk does too but he’s still under appreciated by the writers and fandom for some stupid reason but that’s for another day.

I get what you mean with pidge not getting in trouble or having character development when she’s rude to other characters, but she’s also a kid who lost her dad and her brother and I think they’re just trying to make it realistic to children who lose family members because that’s a lot. Also she’s in her angsty teen phase where she hates everyone so he being pissed off sometimes is realistic.
The writers have also finally fixed themselves and are making Lance less flirty and more mature and he’s starting to get the character development he deserves they said it in an interview for your information.
So yeah pop the hell off but next time use a valid argument other than they’re white and get mad sometimes and are rude to my favorite characters.

a) a running food/fat joke
b) a brainless flirty lation trope (no the writers haven’t fixed this yet. an interview is not the show)
c) a villain (they’re making shiro a villain, even if he’s a clone, haggar was brown, you get what i’m saying),
d) an antagonist (by portraying allura as selfish and a jerk when she was rightfully distrusting of galra)
e) a punching bag (shiro/ keith if he does end up being asian)
and a white girl treating the characters of color like shit and not getting any consequence for it, ever, and getting ppl defending her saying ‘oh, she’s just a kid’, is a sign of racism. just get over yourself.
and stop saying colored, for fuck’s sake. it’s 2018. it’s not my job to explain this, google is free
