I mean….I was expecting to get an ugly bitch going by the preview images on the website and boy howdy did they deliver. :,D
There is just so much nope in this statue that I actually feel sorry for a thing!
From the paint being in places where it shouldn’t be, to the painted on bell and the lack of cat slits and the :3 mouth the box does show.
So I’ve decided to do what I planned to do with this thing in the first place.
Make it look like it’s something worth putting on a shelf and not some 10 dollar, knockoff looking garbage.
Been spending a good hour last night removing the paint of this thing.
(I swear they must have sprayed the thing because some parts had three layers of paint underneath them. The face area specifically.)
Then I used some apoxie sculpt to make some minor adjustments.
Not sure if I’m able to start painting today, but with the paint removed, he’s already looking better.

The very time Kagami was off as the cat hero Kuro Neko, she didn’t know what to think of this situation, wasn’t certain if she wanted to be involved, but couldn’t deny that she was curious enough to try this out. Plagg though seemed really irritating, so she wasn’t too sure…
The first time she saw her partner, Ladybug, she was not impressed. The girl was so hesitant and scared and wide eyed; Kagami was baffled to think that she was supposed to be her partner. She made it clear that this isn’t for the weak willed, she’s either all in, or let someone else do this.
And Ladybug was all in, in the moment that it mattered most, she had stepped up despite her fear, courageous in the face of HM and his akuma, making her challenge of him known, her eyes burning with a resolute fire that easily just trapped Kagami in a daze.
She grinned, enjoying the flare of resolution from Ladybug; eager to work with her to bring down this fool.
Despite this, it takes a while for Kagami to get used to being on a team. She often rushes in a head, ready to fight head on, dancing around her opponents, coming up with the best plans to take them down. Standing back and leaving it all up to Ladybug to figure out, something that didn’t settle too well with her. Though she can admit, LB has some wild ideas, but it takes a while before both can figure out a way to work together and be in sync.
It doesn’t get better with Plagg. He is annoying. And occasionally leaves cheese all over her gear. Plagg in turn doesn’t quite get along with her either, too stiff for his liking, no sense of humor to work off of. He does what he can to help her learn to live a little, though usually Kagami isn’t up to listen, especially from such a lazy kwami.
Despite the struggle of figuring out their teamwork, LB and KN do get along well. Often its LB who likes to talk between them when they’re on patrol, just talk vaguely about their day, what she plans to make, her favorite tea, and what pastries she likes. Kagami usually prefers the quiet, but from LB, she doesn’t mind listening. She appreciates that LB never asks back, never expects Kagami to share information as well. If Kagami ever does, its on her own terms.
Gradually, she finds herself looking forward to seeing LB more and more, enjoying their time together more and more, to a point that patrols with LB were the part of her day. Even better than fencing, her passion.
She doesn’t know if she’s in love with LB, but there is a definite attraction, a definite want to be with her more. And knowing what she wants, Kagami goes for it, asking Ladybug out when they sat down to snack.
LB actually wound up spitting up her tea, caught off guard by the blunt question, turning to Kuro Neko with big eyes as she coughed, answering with a surprised, “What?”
“Do you want to go out sometime. On a date.”
“Uh…”
“Not as our civilian selves, we’re not allowed to know. But we can go as heroes, with a little dress up. What do you say?”
Her answer was a strangled noise that left Kuro Neko confused, not quite a full on answer like she’d expect, and it took LB blurting out a loud, flustered and giddy yes for things to get set in stone, and for the duo to become a true couple.
Though Plagg was still an annoyance with all his teasing and cooing and needs to shut up or else…
