Season 1 foreshadowing the trend of seeing Pink Diamond through reflections

This may seem like a bizarre thing to focus on, but how many gems do you think Pink has seen Blue and Yellow shatter over the years?

I ask because I kind of suspect this may have had something to do with her perception that Blue and Yellow wouldn’t care, or wouldn’t be too affected.

From what little we’ve seen of Homeworld, it kind of seems like anyone who isn’t a Diamond isn’t really cared about in the way that Pink Diamond is. It seems like any kind of disobedience or defiance is often met with shattering. 

Not only that, but the Diamonds don’t really seem to be all that affected by it when they decide to shatter someone. Yellow Diamond certainly didn’t hesitate to tell that Nephrite she was speaking to that she would shatter the whole crew for their disobedience. Blue Diamond didn’t hesitate to call for Ruby’s execution when she fused with Sapphire.

Pink’s conclusion that the other Diamonds wouldn’t care likely didn’t come from some melodramatic idea that her moms didn’t love her. It likely came from her seeing them shatter countless other gems without shedding a tear.
