Look at him. This is the face of a man who knows exactly what that ship is, where it came from, and what will happen if they find Steven- who unknowingly bears Pink Diamond’s gem.
Greg: *smiles sadly* “Just like your mother.”
Greg: “Look, they were doing something awful to the planet and your mother couldn’t stand it anymore. She told me that’s why she had to turn on her own kind. She gave up everything just to stop what they started here and drive the invading Gems off of Earth.”
Steven: “I have Mom’s shield, they need me!”
Greg: “I need you too!”
And then as Steven’s begging to go back, he just stares out at the road, sweating profusely, not saying ANYTHING, biting back his words-
Inwardly, I honestly think he’s battling over whether or not he should reveal what he knows to Steven.
“Do I tell him?? But Rose told me never to tell him unless absolutely necessary…”
in conclusion this scene alone leads me to believe that Rose confided in Greg about her past, choosing to tell him and not Garnet or Amethyst because he was a human who had no history with Pink Diamond and wouldn’t judge her for the person she once was like the other gems likely would thanks for coming to my ted talk
