• Marinette doesn’t throw herself at him the way most of the other girls who’ve had a crush on him have
•A kiss on the cheek in France means something different than a kiss on the cheek in America and can be taken easily be taken as a platonic greeting
•Marinette did not like Adrien for the first few days they knew each other so it may be hard for him to see her as someone who could like him romantically
•Adrien was sheltered with his only interaction with kids his age being Chloe, fangirls, and other (most likely also sheltered) models. It’s a miracle that he can pick up on the social ques the class displays at all and doesn’t run around the city calling Gabriel daddy and forcing others to do his bidding.
•Marinette herself has called Adrien a friend and hasn’t outwardly addressed him as anything more than a friend. Yeah, she’s a mumbling mess around him, but she could very well just be Adriens Shy Friend™. Cannon wise, Marinette hasn’t known Adrien as long as Nino and hasn’t hung out with him as much as she has Alya so there’s not much of an obvious indication to him that she likes him.
And finally, the most important reason why Adrien doesn’t know Marinette likes him is….
•Our blonde bannana headed son is very very very stupid sometimes. He can’t help that he’s written poorly and any development made is erased at the end of each episode.
