Can I just say seeing Asra’s reversed route cg, it is honestly the most ominous and creepy image in the game
Like it’s a reminder that the Devil doesn’t have to be some overt evil, he can corrupt in little ways, and leave things distorted
It’s like leading up to the reversed ending in the other LI’s routes. At first, we could see subtle dialogue changes. Little scenarios that would or wouldn’t happen depending on certain decisions or paths etc
Like Julian killing Lucio in his nightmare being the most prominent example coming to mind
It’s just enough to tweak our brains off and go “this isn’t right”
Like the cg for Asra’s reversed had all of the makings of a “wholesome” image, and it’s actually r e a l l y similar to his upright image
Asra’s leaning over in both pictures, smiling, seemingly relaxed, Faust is there too, same side of the screen and everything , and he’s obviously staring at you
But the more I’ve looked at the picture the more disturbed it becomes to me
1) Faust is upside down, another reference to things being not right and reversed
2) Asra’s leaning the opposite way, this may not seem like a big detail but it’s similar to the Faust thing above
3) Contrasting lighting: in the upright picture it’s natural, warm lighting; in the reversed it’s clashed with red and blue to give it a polarizing and off-putting effect
4) The actual distortion, lemme just say that this threw me for a loop because it instantly made my brain go “that’s not my Asra”
5) His eyes, in the reversed cg his white eyelashes are much more pronounced for one thing which isn’t off putting in if itself but it made me look more at his eyes themselves which made me notice two more things about them
6) His eyes are red in the second one. Asra’s eyes are purple, amethyst is a more accurate description. But the red in of itself is off-putting enough
7) His eyes aren’t smiling. That’s a cliche saying I know I know, but if you look at the upright his eyes are a little smaller and his lower eyelid is upturned too, in the second one it just seems…empty. Much like the Devil’s tampering I might say
Idk these were just some thoughts I had. Cause these cg’s had me feeling some kind of way
