I had to, I’m sorry, I love this scene too much. And in honour of Lance’s birthday tomorrow. No one asked for this but oh well!
Also loads of people are doubting Lance’s Altean Broadsword will come back and I’m over here wanting to dish out hope for you all with analysing this shit, so here we go!!! :D
I’ll try and keep things just to one point, so I’ll just keep to the analysing of the cinematography ;)
People pointed out that this scene is a slight reference to 0102 training drill.
And that’s totally right. There’s just a slight different algorithm on it that means Lance won’t fall into a hole if he’s hit. It shows you his loneliness, but also, he actually does need help and protection in this scenario (to be a team that has your back)- it was what was meant to teach them in that simulation. So that’s why it’s like that here.
