Lance is just washing off the excess stickiness from his bedtime facemask when it happens - when the air in his room thickens and sizzles and in the blink of an eye Kosmo is appearing with a flash. It’s not the first time it’s happened. On the contrary, Lance has spent more than his fair share of time with the beloved space dog. It’s just…this time he’s not alone. This time, when Kosmo appears, his little chirp is overpowered by the strangled “ahh” and heavy thump and quiet “fuck-” as his cargo lands straight on his back onto the floor.
And then it’s silence.
And Kosmo is waiting, sitting still and shoulders straight.
And Lance simply sets his washcloth down, his eyes trained on the huddled mass trying to straighten himself on the floor as everything seems to dawn on him. “Hey babe…”

Lance’s subconscious described Keith as “The Future” with literally no insult or snark attached and you can pry that knowledge from my cold dead hands.
Look. Idc if you ship them or not but Lance has grown to admire and respect Keith so, so much and his answer was so genuine and sincere and that’s just facts.
