I’m STILL having trouble with Akuma Marinette and Chat Noir. I planned for the akuma object to be a fencing foil and that Chat Noir was comforting Marinette… Then the akuma lands on the fencing foil between them. The foil transforms into a rapier, Chat Noir becomes The White Night, his suit transforming into tight white metal plating, and Marinette becomes The Queen. So essentially, it would be The White Knight and His Queen.

The Queen does a show of tapping her sword on both of her knight’s shoulders, hands him the sword, then gives The White Knight a mission without Hawkmoth’s knowledge. Find Hawkmoth and bring his Miraculous to me. As soon as her knight stands up, she puts her hand over his eyes. Out loud, she says “find the Miraculous, use your other senses” and then her knight is off. Hawkmoth now cannot see through his eyes.

Essentially, it’s an akuma story where both Ladybug and Chat Noir are busy being akuma, they both still have hearts of gold, and Marinette’s smart as fuck, taking advantage of their akumatisation in order to defeat their enemy without his knowledge.

Neither of them cause any destruction to the city, and are still in akuma form when they announce to the public that they had defeated Hawkmoth, and that the city is now safe. They’re reluctant to break the sword, having come to enjoy having a linked mind, but ultimately do it in the end. They forget everything, including who Hawkmoth is, but Chat Noir has the Butterfly Miraculous in his hand so they sort of piece together what they did pretty quickly. Especially when the news broadcasts it across the entire city.

The Joker Trailer

So the Joker trailer 100% paints him as a victim of circumstance, so I’m just going to remind everyone of all the unprompted horrors this guy has committed.

- lured a child to a warehouse using his birth mother as bait, only to beat the child to death and then blow him up for good measure (Jason Todd)

- Killed Jim Gordon’s wife Sarah Essen while she was holding a baby

- Blew up a school full of children

- Dosed Superman with fear gas causing him to fight and kill a pregnant Lois Lane and accidentally bomb Metropolis

- The ENTIRE Emperor Joker storyline (kill and eat the entire population of China, torture, murder, and resurrect Bruce Wayne daily, etc.)

- Shot and paralyzed Barbara Gordon, then kidnapped her father and forced him to look at photos of her naked and implying she’d been raped

And much, much more.

So to conclude: the Joker is a great villain, but he is a villain. Completely evil, and without redemption. He may have been a victim of circumstance once upon a time, but there’s a reason the comics never say: because he’s so evil it doesn’t wouldn’t matter even if he was.
