I didn’t actively ignore the issue of the abuse case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard; I didn’t have enough information to make an informed decision.
Now I do.
What happened to Johnny was…. insane. I’m just glad the truth was finally heard and i’m hoping justice will be served justly.
*EDIT: yes, I understand there is still skepticism around the recent evidence that incriminates her, so I get that. but to my knowledge and personal experience, abusers don’t usually stop at their first partner and it is public knowledge and there are state recorded court cases from the past that show that she has abused partners before him.

People are truly out here saying that court records alleging Amber Heard abused Johnny Depp have been published and those must be true. those records are just of Depp’s lawyers stating their case, theres absolutely no evidence linked to them currently as far as I know. The one allegation ive found anything solid supporting/denying was the claim that Amber Heard abused her former partner Tasya van Ree, who has clearly stated that the accusation was false.
Depp is coming back 3 years later with these claims, when much of this ‘evidence‘ could have been published long ago. It’s blatant that his lawyers leaked these documents to the press, and to me it also seems very likely that the reason this claim is suddenly coming up now is bc Depp had been told by his team before to let it go, and that this would blow over. Now that it’s clear that #metoo is more than a fad, and Depp won’t get away with what he did that easily, hes trying to use #metoo to his advantage to gain some good press and cast doubt on Heard with (at this point) little to no evidence.
Come back when you have something more substantial than a document that is basically a press release by his lawyers lol

After all of the evidence that has come to light in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard accusations, re. that Amber was the one who abused Johnny, including beating him, cheating on him, and even cutting his finger off while he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean (it was surgically reattached). When all of the allegations came out against Johnny Depp, I was a bit hesitant to believe either. There was talk of Amber Heard faking the pictures, and for a short while, I sided with Johnny Depp. But eventually, as public opinion changed and everyone seemed to view him as an abuser with such malice, I started to side with them too. At this point, I thought that more allegations had come out against him, from some of the call outs that I saw. That was not the case. In recent months, I joined my friends in making fun of him in the Crimes of Grindlewald movie, and bashing J.K. Rowling for casting him. Now, J.K. has many other faults, but this wasn’t one of them. I want to apologize publically for believing someone blindly even with evidence that suggested otherwise. I fell prey to peer pressure and false information, and I’m sorry.
On a side note, i hope everyone treats Amber Heard with the same animosity we did for Johnny Depp. She deserves it. The fact that she’s a woman doesn’t negate the fact that she abused someone for years, and then ruined their public image so she wouldn’t have to take responsibility.
