Lotura x Sleeping beauty

Because…why not? These Disney+ voltron ships are fun to think of.

Once upon a time, there lived two kings. They had been close friends for years and their kingdoms were closely allied.

One king bore a beautiful daughter, however, when the princess grew into her teen years, the threat of the villian was too great, and for her safety, her father sent her away with a guardian to hide her from the threat. At some point, the princess is placed into a long slumber. (While in the film, Aroura did not sleep long, in the original fairytale, she slept for 100 years. Which dosent compare to Alluras 10,000, but still, a long time.)

(Also I didn’t notice until I put them side by side, but the Allura and Aroura dad’s both are the thinner of the pair and have black and gold in the their designs. Meanwhile Phillip and Lotors dad’s are the bulkier ones with mostly red. Not really important, but I thought it was neat.)

Both princesses have a primarily blue and pink color scheme with gold accents. And both have animal companions that they have no trouble understanding.

Meanwhile, the opposite king had a son. A handsome prince skilled in the sword and with a noticeable darker color pallet. While under better circumstances, these two should have grown up knowing one another, fate did not make it so.

Also, as an add on, in the original Sleeping Beauty, the Prince had an evil mother. (Sound familiar?) Who did not like her son’s bride and thus tried to get rid of her.

Our purple antagonist takes on a dangerous reptilion form to defeat our heroes before they are ultimately defeated.

So yeah, Lotura reminds me a lot of sleeping beauty, and it would make a great twisted fairytale au.

Bonus:

80s Allura looks a lot like Aroura, and not convinced they didn’t take insperation from her. You can’t change my mind.
