GOD today i served a family of 3 and the dad was like “i’ll have a cappuccino” and the kid, a girl of about 11, was like “PLEASE.” and he was like “uh yeah. please” and the kid goes “well you’re always telling me to remember my manners!!! you should too!!” and i was cracking up

and then she was standing there w her mum while i made their drinks and i asked if the mum wanted chocolate sprinkles and she was like “yes please” and the kid goes “well at least SOMEONE remembered their manners” and then sighed dramatically and HEELYED AWAY and honestly? not sure how to go on knowing i’ll never be as cool as this 11 year old

a student at the high school my sister attends threatened to shoot up the place yesterday

both the authorities and the school know who it is

do you know what precautions they took?

they don’t have him in custody, or even under any watch as far as i know

they banned him from attending school until their investigation is finished and made him (a minor) sign a letter promising not to go through with it

classes are being held like normal today

the only thing between him and that school is a flimsy piece of paper

my sister stayed home today

some students who posted critically of the school on social media were given in-school suspension

my sister stayed home, but according to her friends who did attend school there was an assembly

not to address fears or reassure students, but to have them berated by the police chief for being afraid

frightened children were threatened by the administration and the police with legal action for “spreading false information”

they threatened to take their phones and search their homes

i wonder if they searched the home and car of the kid who started all this for firearms
