Ok. So this is just something I noticed in the ep. Earlier, we get this adorable scene where Luka and Marinette just click and seem to get the same idea with no other communication whatsoever. Like, they already know what each other is thinking and they know the other knows too. Initially, I thought was a Ladynoir parallel because they usually do the same thing during their own trysts.

But then, later on in the episode, Chat Noir and Ladybug look like they’re at a total dissonance. Maybe it’s a post-Oblivio effect or Chat’s more dense than usual, but the point is Ladynoir somehow doesn’t have that same level of communication as before. Like Ladybug gives up pretty quickly and just ends up texting him everything…and even then, Chat Noir kinda takes a while to get it, and makes a lot of jokes along the way. (Like why was he so happy about the fact that Ladybug might be her superhero persona permanently? Like, he even joked about it being a good thing? Weird flex, but ok)

Like, no salt…but that’s weird, right? Like why are these two situations being presented to us in the audience, when clearly, in previous episodes Ladynoir have no trouble communicating their plans without words and even get back to that rhythm later on?

Like, is it to show us that, hopefully, maybe, finally, there’ll be some change in the dynamics? Because season 1 Mari would have never been so taken with another dude (e.g. Nino, Nath, Chat Noir), but now Adrien doesn’t even cross her mind. Like, color me impressed, that’s development I didn’t expect. (And I’m kinda hoping it sticks).

Like, these are only my unorganized thoughts, feel free to disagree with me. But did anyone else notice the difference in atmosphere with the Ladynoir confession scenes and the Lukanette confession scenes we’ve had so far?

Anyways, I still ship Love Square but I also ship Lukanette and rn, I think deviance from the love square would be good for them, because Oblivio showed that without all the complicated factors of the love square with idealization and stuff, Adrienette is adorable. Meanwhile, Lukanette is a mutually supportive relationship where Marinette and Luka can both benefit from, and even if it doesn’t work out in the long run, they look like they’d be pretty happy together for the short time they would have.

Edit: So, I re-watched the ep, and apparently the whole Chat Noir thing being too nonchalant about Ladybug’s situation was an oversight on my part. Sorry about that. He looks pretty distressed before making a joke about it. Unfortunately Ladybug doesn’t take it too well. But even with that thought, Chat was pretty wholesome this ep so I didn’t mind tbh.


Also, this ep is apparently before Oblivio? Thanks to @karokitten-chan for pointing that out. Now, I’m curious about the in-between episodes but that’s another post.
