She wrote a beautiful and amazing fic, and I had the pleasure of drawing a few things for it - and I wasn’t the only artist! The wonderful eepz did a piece for it too.
It was an honour to get to draw for another of my lovely fiancée’s big bangs, especially one for this ship. I had so much fun.

My wife and I were were talking the other day and, I don’t remember what we were even talking about, but the idea came up that we would need an oreo for. I joked about getting one from my secret stash. This is where she made her mistake. She said “oh right, like you could have an Oreo stash without me knowing about it.”
I’m sorry?
That’s a challenge.
Oreos aquired.
I’m going to hide them in a super simple place at first
But be sure to follow this post while I chronicle all the ways and places I hide them and also how I plan on taunting her with cookies while she can’t find the package
She is out of the house for a moment so it’s time to enjoy a few cookies
And find a new hiding spot

She never looks under the TV for anything. Tonight when we are watching Halloween Wars I’ll have a big dopey grin on my face
Time to up the stakes. It was fun having em here and hiding them around her while she didn’t know what was happening. Bit now it’s time for her to be in on the game she is playing

I’ve been cleaning house today and feeling like I’ve done a pretty good job. Time to reward myself with some delicious Oreos

Got up early this morning and helped pack everyone’s lunch. Pulling a damn Oprah over here

Then a devious idea struck me…
I put the remaining Oreos in a baggie to hide by themselves. Now to “hide” the package where it will probably be found…
And pin the actual stash to the inside of the closet wall
If you two weren’t already married I’d beg you to marry her because you two are obviously perfect for each other and I love this post with all my heart

Bwa ha ha ha! You guys! You guys don’t understand! I was planning on doing this and when I got home and looked at it I was like “aww, it’s too thin. They won’t fit.” I even TOLD my wife this and how I was disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to hide them back there.

one of the nice little details disney animates into sonic’s motions is a lot of how his hands behave when talking. more specifically, that he seems to lead with his index finger when “talking with his hands”, which is super cool, because the Finger Waggle™ is such an iconic part of Classic Sonic’s whole aesthetic, starting in the first game
this was the only speaking line he had in the first film, but look:
in the shot where the sign he’s on is far away, watch the hand. Index finger extended while he talks. A very cute detail. We see The Finger Waggle™ many times throughout the franchise, so it was a very, VERY cute touch on Disney’s part to incorporate it into how he moves!
and now look at the new shot from wir2:
he’s more in the focus of the shot, and a bonus that he’s there in person instead of just on a sign. Look though! That pointer finger, still out.
This is by no means a big detail, not one bit. But I do feel like it was intentional on the animators’ part. After all, every other shot of Sonic in the first movie also paid IMMENSE amounts of details to how the character acts, even though he’s in the background every single time. Here’s some more examples!
getting hit and spilling rings is a pretty surface-level choice for a sonic gag, sure, BUT: the pose. that’s a classic knock-back pose for Sonic. they definately did their research.
this shot here actually made me notice something in the games. that tiny hop to slow down? that’s a thing sonic has done in cutscenes in more recent games, such as lost world and i believe in forces? sometimes i’ll watch wir and just watch the background which is when i noticed this little hop, and then noticed it in the actual games.
i cant speak as in-depth for every other game character that is featured in the movie, but its very obvious just from the example of sonic alone that their animators take the time to flesh out characters that don’t even get to live in the foreground for the majority of the film. its great and i just want to appreciate it ;-; <3
