Well, Kagami wouldn’t need to shade Marinette for ‘hesitating’ since Marinette in this AU isn’t shaken by her growing crush on Adrien. Plus I’m not sure Kagami would see her as a romantic rival since I don’t think Adrien would have that ‘I’m tired of rejection maybe I’ll give you a try moment’ with Kagami, so she might be more inclined to befriend Marinette, WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED NOT ANOTHER THOUGH ADMITTEDLY CALMER CAT FIGHT OVER SAD RICH BOI!!
Look, idk much about how Kagami interacts with her …’classmates?’ when she’s not on a date with Adrien. It felt like her wanting to date him came out of no where, which is only explained with off screen ‘We Fence Sometimes’. Marinette calls her an Ice Queen, but we never see her being cold and emotionally detached unless it’s about her being competitive about something, so is that another off screen explanation? Kagami gets a lot of tell, don’t show foe her build up and her on screen actions are through the lens of ‘Fighting to be the Best Fencer’ and ‘Fighting to be the Best Girl’, so when you’re not fighting for something WHO EVEN ARE YOU KAGAMI?!
I just wanted one, ONE ROMANTIC RIVAL FOR MARINETTE who didn’t have to attack Marinette to put herself ahead. ONE rival that would be respectable and fight on equal footing, not looking down. You know, like all those chill guys ‘going for’ Marinette. Which is whyyyyy I love Kagami: Gay for Marinette/Marigold/Ladybug. Especially because lets be honest; Adrien was a sucky date.
