Lewis’ heart (and how it reflects his emotions and current state)
Okay so, Lewis’ default heart is a yellow/orange color, right?
I think the reason that it’s that color is that the reason why Lewis came back as a ghost is to get revenge on Arthur (whose main color scheme is Yellow/orange) and also potentially to reunite with Vivi.
And when Lewis was separated from Vivi, his heart turned a Cyan/blue color (colors that are associated with Vivi) His heart is also obviously cracked, a quite literal representation of his heartbreak.
So when he finds Vivi’s flower
His heart returns to normal
After that, Lewis kinda forgot about Vivi, and his goal was once again to get revenge on Arthur.
In Hellbent, when the car chase begins and Lewis opens his heart,
The flower petals turn to ash. This again shows that Lewis, at that moment, is paying no heed to Vivi. His only goal is to find the man that killed him.
(Notice how he completely ignores Vivi in Hellbent, even though she is in danger like meters away)
So, at the very end of Hellbent,
The fact that Lewis’ heart has lost its color kinda makes sense. If Arthur and Vivi don’t survive this ordeal, then Lewis has no reason to stick around. He got his revenge, and the woman he wanted to reunite with is dead.
So what does this mean? Basically, everyone is fucked.
