-An article is written in a newspaper about Why Paris needs Ladybug. It comes off initially as a fluff piece. It starts getting a lot of attention and even the news starts covering it, having the writer do interviews. Because a lot of people think it is amazing.
-Marinette has yet to actually read the piece, but had heard about it, thinking it is very sweet. She doesn’t get why it is getting so much attention though.
-Marinette asks alya about it, since she didn’t post it in the Ladyblog. Alya asks her if she read the article. Marinette says she hasn’t.
-Alya, who looks very disgruntled, shows her the piece. Based on her reaction, Marinette thought it would turn out to be a slam piece on Ladybug. But as she read it, it didn’t seem that different then most articles that talked about her superhero alter ego, high praise, much respect. But then Marinette gets to a section of the article that was quite startling. It was a section trashing Chat noir. Or more specifically, why chat noir was not needed.
-To top it off this person stated statistics of how often Chat noir was either, Incapacitated, taken over, changed, or turned against ladybug in anyway. And the number was vast with specific examples to show it wasn’t all fluff.
-Marinette was absolutely disgusted with this. How could this person trash Chat noir like this? They didn’t know what he has dealt with.
-Alya explained that a poll was taken and 58% of Parisians that took the poll felt the same as the author. She refuses to cover it because it is a slam piece.
-Adrien was hearing Marinette criticize the work, (having not read it yet, because he has been busy) asks her why she is upset.
-Marinette and Alya explain what happened. Adrien manages to keep calm about it. “I disagree with her opinion, but thats no reason to let an article make you mad. It isn’t the first article that doesn’t like chat noir.” Adrien explains. (He was internally very pissed.)
-Later Chat noir is on the rooftops, moving a long, he saw some people throwing out some chat noir decorum. A bit hurtful to his ego, but nothing he can’t shake off.
- The author starts getting asked to come on late night shows and their comments start really hurting Chat noir’s image. Whats worse is that the person speaks highly of the other heroes. Just not chat noir. But one comment the writer makes was really controversial.
-”It feels like he is just one more akuma attack away from being a villain.”
- That really got the news going. (Much like with Copycat,) People started turning against Chat noir like crazy. Even most of Bustier’s class was not a fan of him anymore.
-Adrien, was annoyed and hurt that his hero status was basically buried in the dirt, but he knew those people’s opinions didn’t matter. He was a hero. Thats what he needed to be.
-Marinette was absolutely livid about all of this. She knew Chat noir was a good person, and that this writer obviously had no idea what kind of person he was. She defends him when the class makes comments about chat noir, which Adrien appreciated. (Adding more to the Adrien Relationship bar)
-Ladybug asking chat noir about it. Asking if he was angry. Chat noir answers. “It only matters what you think My Lady.”
-Ladybug could tell it was hurting him. But he kept himself controlled and calm.
-Ladybug showing up to one of the night show interviews of the writer.
-The writer was happy to see ladybug. “Did you read my article?”
-Ladybug answered that she did. And she just TORE IT APART! Went point by point, countering every single argument the writer wrote against Chat noir. Just decimating it.
-Then ending with. “If Paris doesn’t need Chat noir, thats fine. But Ladybug sure does.” Tears up the article and walks out like a boss.
-That went viral. The writer got dragged through the mud. People started buying new chat noir merchandise. Alya posted that video on the Ladyblog.
-The writer gets akumatized, but the writer loses so doesn’t matter.
-Chat noir thanking Ladybug for what she did. And of course more cheesy flirting

i was looking at old photos and i wanted to show you how our story went, a little
bronwyn and i met at age 12 but i dont have any photos from then, really, but this is from grade 9 science class when we were being goofs and i was 13
this is from our first ever sleepover, we couldn’t stop laughing and we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor and we went to boston pizza and got plastic rings that we both still have (bronwyn kept hers on a necklace after that)
i went to bronwyn’s cottage for the first time in the summer after grade 9
we had our first kiss in grade 10 when i was 14 and were in a weird kind of dating limbo period
then i moved to the states and turned 15 and told bronwyn i was in love with her and we visited every chance we could and she sent me flowers and packages
then i went to junior prom with her and bronwyn cut her hair
then we had the most beautiful summer where i spent 5 weeks at her cottage and i cut my hair
then i went back to miami for 12th grade and turned 16 and bronwyn was 17 and we went to senior prom together
then i moved back to canada for university when i was turning 17 and we finally lived in the same place again and we loved each other so much and got breakfast together every day
then after a beautiful summer we started living together when i was 18 and bronwyn was 19 and we went to bahrain together and bronwyn dyed her hair brown and now i get to see her every morning and every night and we adventure in our city and have a coffee shop and love each other more than i could have thought. there were periods of scary intense darkness but we love each other so much and i’ve never been happier. i’ve known bronwyn since i was 12 and now i’m almost 19 and i love her more and more.
i’m never on here anymore, but i wanted to share that almost a month ago bronwyn and i got engaged!! under a beautiful tree on a perfect day and for the rest of my life i get to pursue her and care for her and make her laugh. i’ve said this so many times but now more than ever: if this is all i get, it’s so much more than i could have hoped for.

The black clad hero arrived home just in time for his transformation to wear off.
“I am starving! Adrien, I am in dire need of cheese!” The black cat kwami called out as he popped out of the ring. “Adrien?”
Adrien still had a smile on his face. The blond model was thinking about what had happened earlier that night.
“Huh? oh sorry Plagg. I am a bit out of it right now.” Adrien apologized as he grabbed a piece of cheese for the small cat like creature.
“I can see that.” Plagg stated as he nibbled on the cheese. “Did Ladybug confess to you or something?”
Adrien turned red.
“What no! Well it wasn’t Ladybug that confessed to me.” Adrien blurted out.
Plagg looked at the cat confused.
“So who confessed to you that has you so out of it?” Plagg asked as he took a bigger bite of the stinky camembert.
“It was Marinette. One of my friends and classmates” Adrien answered. “It kind of caught me off guard.”
Plagg finished his cheese and floated to the blond model.
“Sounds like you are pretty happy about it.” Plagg pointed out.
“Well, its the first time a girl has ever confessed to me before.” Adrien answered.
“Uhh… you sure about that? Don’t you have people constantly confessing to you?” Plagg questioned.
“I mean as Chat noir. Those fans don’t actually mean it, they don’t know what I am like, they just see me as the model on one of my dad’s products. But no one has ever said that to me when I am chat noir.” Adrien explained. “Its really heartwarming.”
Plagg smiled at the kid. He knew how much being Chat noir means to the blond teen. Chat noir is him, the part of him that is free, with a tiny bit of influence of him, but most of it is grade A Adrien, without all of the modeling and constant watching of his reputation.
“So does that mean you are going to accept her confession then?” Plagg inquired.
“Well… I don’t know. I mean, it is flattering and to hear it from Marinette is really great. But my heart is dedicated to Ladybug. Besides, Marinette could just be in love with the idea of me, not my chat noir personality.” Adrien answered.
“But didn’t you actually work with her to stop an akuma once? Also didn’t you save her a bunch of times? And didn’t you tell me that you showed her the spot for the date you planned for Ladybug? If any civilian knows you, it would be her.” Plagg listed nonchalantly. “She knows you.”
Adrien looked wide eyed at the black kwami.
“What? I can be observant and thoughtful when I am fed.” Plagg defended.
Adrien had to sit down to process what the cat just said. He made some very good points.
“Plagg… I think you are right! Marinette might be genuinely in love with me!” Adrien exclaimed in panic.
The black cat kwami smirked as he watched the boy process this. IF he had found out that the same girl that just confessed to him was actually Ladybug, the kid would probably faint from shock. It took all of his will power not to tell the flustered teen.
Regardless of the outcome, he knew this was going to be very amusing.
