Little bits of flour dust still floated in the air of the bakery, their dance brought about by a broom diligently directing them to the dustbin. Outside, the pitter-patter of a rain shower evolved into a sharp drumming. Marinette brushed the remaining debris into the trash, humming.

“Done!”

Patting her hands together, she made her way for the light switches along the wall. The sound of the rain intensified into a solid rapping, catching her attention. “Wow, it’s coming down hard now…” Marinette glanced over her shoulder, “Glad I’m insid–EEEEE!”

my take on a ATLA au

for all I’ve compared the two shows, never really considered a ATLA au for miraculous. And you know…I’m bored so let’s get into it

Marinette: 

Element: Water

Home: Northern Water Tribe 

Backstory: Marinette is a good daughter and has a good family. They’re very respectful and supportive of one another. When she was younger, she wanted to be a fashion designer (like in ml) but as she grew up, she began to realize that that dream wasn’t as important as fighting the war was. She wanted to do everything she could to help and so she tried to start learning how to use her water bending offensively. Now we know what the Northern Water Tribe is about. They’re sexist, point blank. But Marinette (much like our lord and savior, Katara) is not one to be deterred and actively fights against the sexism. She hates that she is automatically put into healing training simply because she is a girl. She skips out on those classes and teaches herself combat water bending. Her father gives her lessons from time to time and she gets pretty good. It takes a very long while for the water bending teacher to (begrudgingly) admit that she has potential. Marinette is visiting some family in the Southern Water Tribe after Aang, Katara, and Sokka leave and she learns that the Avatar is alive and was there. She has a major increase in determination and doesn’t go home, instead electing to help out wherever she can in the world. She still sends letters home to reassure her parents that she’s safe but our girl is out there fighting the good fight. 

Adrien: 

Element: Fire, but only because fire is outwardly seen as a destructive (and only destructive) element. 

Home: Fire Nation Capital; he is not the crown prince, neither is his dad Fire Lord. His dad is someone incredibly well known and respected however (perhaps a military general). 

Backstory: pretty much the same as canon ml; homeschooled and has a distant relationship with his father since the disappearance of his mother. Now Adrien is a fire-bender but keeps it secret. Why? Because Gabriel is known to be a non-bender and so was Emilie. So this clueless boy has no idea how he got it (i’m gonna make an assumption and say that genetics wasn’t really understood at this point in time so yeah). He decides to keep it secret and tries to practice in secret (to no avail). Gabriel has no idea.

• His dad puts him in various military training. So fencing wouldn’t be a thing, instead he’s put into sword fighting, which serves as a benefit later on. Much like his mother however, he disagrees with what the FN is doing and does his best to shoot down other military classes his dad tries to force him in. He keeps sword fighting because he could use it someday to save lives (he’s right). 
  
• This boy be lonely as FRICK. Only really interacts with Nathalie and the other workers in the house but even then, it’s not real conversation. His only friend was Chloe but then she and her family had to relocate to another city and he was left alone again. 
• How does he get away? His dad decided to bring him along on a mission to show him what his “future career” would be like. I’m still deciding on which it would be because there’d have to be a commotion for Adrien to slip away. If it’s early enough, it would prolly be when Zuko and his crew meet up with Zhao at the FN Port and Adrien slips away to be apart of Zuko’s crew. It’s not until the conflict with Katara and the Waterbending Scroll (with the pirates) that he goes out on his own. Not to mention, he has nO idea what he’s doing since he’s been kinda sheltered his whole life. I’m working out who he’ll meet up with first since he kinda needs someone so he won’t die of starvation lol.

I’ve seen people complain about secret Identity in between the heroes, and argue that hero teams for other shows share their secret identity with each other. And thus, why do the MLB heroes don’t?

Aside for the in-universe reason due to the nature of their adversary (mind controller), this is not really true for superhero teams, actually.

While super-teen groups like Power Rangers, Animorphs, and the likes, who received their powers together, do share their secret identity, the super-teams whose heroes did not become superhero together do not share their identity willy-nilly.

The Justice League cartoon, for example, does not have the main heroes share their identity with each other until they were pressed by an alien invasion. Even later, they no not implement any policy on revealing each others’ identity with the new members (Superman was not aware that Captain Marvel’s secret identity was a ten year old kid, for example). 

The cartoon Young Justice also has a super-hero team where the members do not know each others’ secret identity when they have one. One episode has Artemis go to the same school as Robin in Gotham, and she has no idea of who he was. Their secret identity is just their individual private business. It’s not relevant to their hero job, and they usually have them for security reasons.

So, tldr: Superhero’s secret Identity is a staple of the genre, and a superhero is in no way obligated to reveal it to another hero, even when they’re working together.

Not even cookies!

AU where the only way that Hawkmoth could control Tikki or Plagg is if he had both! Spoilers of season 2 is in this short Drabble.

Hawkmoth thought his plan was sound proof. He had acquired the earrings of the girl and had her bound in the room as bait. She was surprisingly defiant even after he knocked her aside and possibly gave her a concussion. Ah, the consequences that couldn’t be avoided. He shrugged and pulled out the mirror as well as plucked the needle he’d been saving for this very moment.

“Now, in just a few minutes I will have the power of creation at my fingertips! And then when your precious chaton comes to rescue you, I will have his miraculous as well!” He dared to release a deep, dark chuckle. A snort escaped the girl and he looked over in time to see her rolling her eyes. He sneered and made a reminder to make her stay a little unpleasant. Adrien was never like this thankfully. At least he wasn’t like that dumb, punning cat.

The piercing was rather easy to do and he could barely contain his joy as he slipped the earrings in. His hands trembled as a light pink glow made the Kwami exit the miraculous. He expected a sad little bug similar to Nooroo, but that’s not what slapped him in the face.

“How dare you?! I understand you believe that demonizing real people for having feelings is fine, but smacking a child the age of your son?! What kind of man are you? A spineless, little stain on the print of humanity that’s what! And don’t think that I’m going to help you take over the world! I wouldn’t help you even if you gave me all the cookies!”

Hawkmoth soon realized that he might have overestimated this plan with the furious Kwami, but no matter. He was in control. He couldn’t let the Kwami speak to him like that! He was Gabriel Agreste, he was Hawkmoth!

“I order you to lose your mouth Kwami.” His eyes were near slits and the words were a gruff threat. The command worked and the red terror lost her mouth. She glared stonily at him. He looked to see if the defiance had left the girl, but she was smirking. Smirking! He had her miraculous and she dared to smirk. He turned away. Let the silly child smirk all she wanted, he was the victor of this tale. Her Kwami was the evidence of that. He impatiently tapped his foot. He was all too eager for Chat Noir to come, he wanted to be done so Emilie was able to be back. Gabriel pondered with the thought of keeping the miraculous to find the rest. Infinite power would be at his hands if he did that. He sneered, power was always wanted in his mind. A light voice disturbed his thoughts and he spun quickly to guarantee what he was hearing.

“Don’t worry Marinette. Chat will come soon. I can’t wait to tell Plagg that Hawkmoth tried to take my freedom of speech away! Our boys aren’t going to be very happy!” The red menace giggles as she sat on the girls head.

Hawkmoth felt his jaw drop as the two both smirked at him. Maybe this was a bad plan.
