-One thing that really bugs me about ML is that Chat noir is ALWAYS getting the shaft when it comes to fights. I get that Ladybug is the main hero and has the power to do miraculous healing, so she can’t let herself get controlled by the Akuma. So Chat noir is the one taking the sacrificial blows, or getting hit with the akuma’s power, cause status quo.
-But even in the cases where the power isn’t impacting him, he is portrayed as weaker then the villains. (Some villains Like stoneheart, the Mime, as well as evillustrator, were more powerful, so those types I will give a pass to since their powers were ridiculous op.) My main gripe was Anti-bug. How in the hell did CHLOÉ FIGHT, TIE UP, and capture Chat noir? Yet Ladybug could match her evenly? It seems ridiculous. (At least in Copycat, chat noir was tricked by his imposter who knew what to do in order to trap him. The only remotely clever thing done in that episode.)
-But then some startling realization hit me. Chat noir is holding back.
-Chat noir Needs to hold back, he knows there are people under those akuma. If he was serious, his power ‘Cataclysm’ can KILL PEOPLE! So as a hero, he would NEVER want to use it directly on someone (as long as he is in control). While his strength, speed, and durability are likely equal to Ladybug’s (since they are seen as the other’s half). Why is Ladybug able to handle the Akuma better? It is simple, Ladybug was made to handle opponents by other means rather then fighting. Plus, she can afford to go all out, she has a literal deus ex Machina that makes any damage or destruction vanish in an instant. So she can afford to be reckless. Plus her special power involves Creating an item that is convenient to solve the problem at hand. (Which can be used a lot easier then a move that destroys anything it touches.)
-Ladybug rarely fights someone directly, most of the time, using traps or elaborate plans to get the akuma. Even when fighting Chat noir when he is under the Akuma’s influence, she takes full advantage of how he is being controlled in order to detain him. (i.e. using a laser pointer to make him knock minions off of a roof. Use the fact that Manon doesn’t know how to control him right to trick him and fling him off of a roof. Use Kisses to distract the now hateful Chat noir). Chat noir always had a weakness to exploit and has never fought Ladybug in a full on match.
-I would deduce that Ladybug and Chat noir would be equal on every playing field EXCEPT in their special powers. In a one on one. Chat noir has the advantage. One because he has an INSTANT KILL MOVE. and two, his style of fighting works better in a direct match. (Example, Chat noir easily handling multiple opponents like the minions in Dark blade, and defeating the akuma in a straight forward duel.) Ladybug would need to find a way to trick him or trap him. But if he never gave her the chance to escape and plan. She would likely lose.
-But of course if this ever happened in the show, Ladybug would always win. Why? Because she has the plot on her side. I am not saying that Chat noir should go beat up Ladybug or anything, cause that would be stupid, (he would never hurt Ladybug intentionally. It isn’t in his nature.) I just want Chat noir given a fair shake, instead of the shaft.
-Conclusion: Stop giving the cat the shaft in battles. And on another more aggravating note. Have ADRIEN LEARN LESSONS! Like seriously, Marinette is always the one owning up to her mistakes, its never Adrien! It is ridiculous, (that is a rant for another day.
