As the holiday season is vast approaching us, I thought; “hey, here’s a great way to wait for the next episode: PROMPTS!” Who doesn’t love a good old prompt system?
So, for the next 25 days of December, under the tag #Tinsel Bug , I propose we have a prompt of fanart/fanfiction/fan vids to 25 different themes!
(Or, in the most likely scenario, you get to watch me write Christmas-themed fanfiction about a children’s show and I’ll cry.)
can we just appreciate that in Ladybug Ep 10 (Le Dislocouer/Cupid’s Arrow/Heartbreaker) when Chat has the chance to take Ladybug’s miraculous, he instead goes for her identity like that is how strong his feelings are, not just for Ladybug but for their partnership.
disclaimer I’m assuming here that the arrow turns someone’s feelings of love into hate of equal magnitude (like, negating an integer)
ok so when Chat has her pinned down Dislocoeur/Heartbreaker is like
but Chat is just like
reeeeeal busy. with things that are definitely not suggestive in any way whatsoever.
and then
because he is obsessed with her and love or hate it’s still an obsession
because that would be the true destruction of their relationship. Her desire to keep her identity hidden (esp. from Chat) has been central in their relationship up until this point and previously Chat had always asked but respected her unwillingness (see the freaking time when he closed the door instead of looking at her detransform) but this would be him forcefully finding out her identity without her consent.
If he just hated and wanted to destroy Ladybug, he could have easily just taken the miraculous. She would be forced to detransform, revealing her identity, and also she would lose her Ladybug powers. And then Chat could give the miraculous to Dislocouer/Hawkmoth, completing the betrayal. But instead Chat is fixated on her as Ladybug and is actively disregarding the boundaries of their relationship. His feelings for her go way beyond just feelings for Ladybug; he values their relationship to the point that his desire to maintain it (which turns into a desire to ruin it) surpasses the power of the akuma’s brainwashing like he doesn’t just respect her he respects her as a participant in this relationship???? And also his feelings about Ladybug completely override his compulsions from the akuma????? Like???? So many feelings are happening???

Edit: @itstheartistical pointed out that Chat was not the one who was akumatized–I do recognize this, but in all the other episodes that feature minions of the akuma (pharaoh, knight), the minions are under the control of the baddie, who is under control of the akuma, who is under control of Hawkmoth…..I’m mostly referring to the magical brainwashing powers that the akuma grants rather than the idea that Chat is directly under the akuma’s control. Sorry if that was unclear!
