I will never get over this scene. I don’t care how many people say how disappointing or how anticlimactic the ending of Season 2 was…this scene is the TURNING POINT of their entire relationship!!!

Mr. Adrien Agreste is comparing Marinette to Ladybug, the literal love of his life!! He finally acknowledged out loud all of the good deeds Marinette has done over the past two seasons and compares her to a literal superhero! Yes, he doesn’t have any romantic feelings for her YET, but it’s this moment, it’s this ACKNOWLEDGMENT that I believe he’s going to start seeing Marinette in a different light.

One of the qualities he loves about Ladybug is her instinctual need to help others and Marinette HAS that quality. She helps others in everyday life, something that Ladybug just can’t do as a superhero. Ladybug may be the Protector of Paris from Hawk Moth, but Marinette is the Protector of Paris from negative everyday feelings (sadness, loneliness, frustration, etc). It’s THIS QUALITY of Marinette’s natural personality that will make Adrien notice her more and eventually fall in love with her.

I HOPE they’ll make Adrien continue to compare Marinette to Ladybug and eventually, I hope to see Marinette comparing Adrien to Chat Noir, or at least kicking Adrien off the pedestal she put him on. But anyway long story short: THIS SCENE IS MY FAVORITE. ITS ICONIC. AND IT WILL NEVER NOT BE SIGNIFICANT TO ME AS THE SHOW PROGRESSES. My babies are adorable. And they honestly deserve the world!! 🐞
