Spectador from CCXP teaser of the Sonic movie confirms the early concept went almost practically unchanged.

Redditer Ganidan (someond who has seen the teaser behind closed doors of the upcoming Sonic Movie) confirms that the leaked early concept design for Sonic is pretty much also the final design. The only differences he states are that Sonic’s eyes have a less circular shape and that he had a seriously/angrier expression on the teaser.

As for how different the shadowed poster looks from the earky concept, Ganidan blamed the angle/pose used for the official poster.
