Imagine that instead of Adrien/Chat’s Akuma form basically being Chat Noir in white, Adrien’s Akuma is based off an incubus, a monster that would seduce people to drain them of their life energy. He uses his good looks to lure people in via some sort of “wounded gazelle gambit.” Then when they get too close, he drains their life force leaving them frozen as statue. Each life he steals serves to make him stronger.

First off before we get started, a note from @kryallaorchid “INCUBUS IS BASICALLY A SEX DEMON. THEY FEED OF FEELINGS DURING SEX.” Just so there is no misunderstanding as to what an incubus really is. What you’re describing is more along the lines of a siren with the whole ~luring people to their doom~ thing.

Adrien is tired of people wanting him only for his looks. He is so tired of being nothing but a pretty face to hang clothes off of. He’s tired of people idolising him for his face and not giving a damn about him. People try to get close to him, only to shy away when he comes out of his shell and allows them a glimpse of who he is beneath.
The one person he wants to think him handsome, the one person he wouldn’t mind smiling for all day because he smiles for her enough as it is, the person who knows him better than any other doesn’t want him. It hurts, it hurts so damn bad to love her and know she doesn’t–and will likely never–love him but he respects her decision because she is his Lady and he could never do anything else.
But other people don’t respect him enough. Other people…like Chloe…with her fake smiles, her lies, and selfish desires….
When the akuma comes for him, he ignores Plagg’s screams and the welcomes the sweet relief of the darkness. He is Adrien no more.
His name is Adonis and he is the most beautiful person in the world. When people look at him, they see exactly what he wants them to see: a person so stunning, so attractive, that they cannot help be drawn to them. He doesn’t know what each individual sees–race, height, weight, features, gender all vary from person to person and in the end it doesn’t matter, as long as they find him attractive then the illusion suits its purpose.
There are some who aren’t fooled, the illusion doesn’t work on them and it frustrates him to no end but he doesn’t understand why. These people are few in number but he knows them by their looks of horror and disgust and he knows they see him for what he is beneath. The ugly creature he really is. He doesn’t care about them.
Adonis knows how to elude Ladybug–and, truthfully, he doesn’t wish to face her, some part of him sick at the possibility that she would be one of those able to see through him–he knows how her mind works, he knows how she will go about seeking him out. He also knows she will be distracted by the absence of her partner to pay attention to him, at least at first.
While it doesn’t take people long to realise there is an akuma in their midst–the whole statues thing kind of gives it away–it takes them a very long time before someone realises it’s him. No one can agree on the description of the akuma, after all, only that he is beautiful.
The day someone truly sees him is the day when he decides to pay a visit the girl who pushed him over the edge. Chloe. He goes just after school lets out, where he will have an audience. He wants people to see what she becomes when he’s through with her.
He doesn’t know who or what she sees when she looks at him but he knows it isn’t who he used to be. Whoever he is to her, though, is enough to lure her in. He doesn’t get to drain her, though, because he is stopped by a single, disarming word behind him.
“Adrien?”
Adrien Agreste hasn’t been seen in weeks. The rumour is that his dad yanked him out of school to resume private tutoring but neither Nino or Chloe can confirm. And there he was…standing there…in front of Chloe.
Adonis turns around to see who it is, to see who thought he–the old him, the real him, a quiet voice mutters in his mind–was the most beautiful person in the world.
Marinette. The bold, creative girl who sat behind him in class, who always got so flustered when he so much as looked in her direction. She…she thought he was…
And for the first time since his transformation, Adonis has no idea what to do.

Marinette does not believe her eyes. How is he standing there like nothing happened? How is no one else freaking out? …Why is he looking at her like that? Just a moment ago he looked utterly shocked, even a little lost, and now… She has never seen anything like the ugly expression on his face on anyone other than akuma. Twisted, bitter, full of disappointment, and loathing. It chills her and she knows deep in her gut: that’s not Adrien.
Alix starts screaming, high, loud, panicked screams like something straight out of a horror film. It scares everyone to death. She’s staring and pointing straight at Adrien as she screams bloody muder. She stumbles away, knocking an underclassman over in her haste to get away. Then a single word finally rips through the incoherent shrieks coming from her mouth: “AKUMA!!”
Marinette believes her immediately. Everyone else believes exactly three seconds later when Adonis’s face twists into a sneer and he grabs Chloe’s shoulders. She lets out a strange howl, something like shock or pain or even protest, and then she falls silent. Her limbs jerk a few times before coming rigid, her skin and eyes rapidly waxing over. Just like the statues that had been popping up all over town.
In the ensuing panic, Alix gets the hell out of there and Ladybug appears. Not-Adrien stands in front of Chloe, his sneer unwavering as his former partner crouches on the sidewalk not twenty feet away. He successfully disarms her with a single sentence: “About time, my lady.” He lunges and she gets away purely out of instinct. Throw the yoyo at something high–in this case, the rooftop of her school–let it latch on and then trigger the retracting mechanism. She lays sprawled out on the rooftop in shock for a few moments and by the time she manages to work through the muddled mess that is her mind, Adonis is long gone.
Marinette is beside herself, utterly refusing to believe that the akuma is Chat Noir. But, as Tikki points out, Chat Noir hasn’t returned her calls or even been sighted since before the statues began appearing. The timelines matched. He’d called her ‘My Lady’. But why oh why did he look like Adrien?!
Ladybug visits the homes of several classmates she knew had witnessed the attack, including Sabrina who was in shock. One thing quickly became evident: no one had seen Adrien standing there. In fact, each person described someone different entirely. But it wasn’t until she visited Alix that she began to understand, because Alix had not seen a person at all. The creature she’d described was death warmed over. Sallow-faced with deep circles under his eyes, blueish skin like he’d been drowned, dark, stringy hair, solid black eyes, wearing tattered clothes.
Ladybug tells her that is not what she or anyone else saw. Alix doesn’t understand why she alone saw something different but she perks up considerably when Ladybug tells her that it may be useful. Ladybug might overlook him if she saw him a crowd but there was no way Alix could miss something like what she described and he (or it) needed to be found as soon as possible.
“It could be dangerous.” “I don’t care. I’m in.”
