Okay so I know you DJWifi shippers are all rejoicing right now (meanwhile I’m still pissed they made Nino have a crush on Marinette because that’s my Brotp darn it) but you do gotta admit that felt a little rushed so I figured out what really went down.
The fake dating trope.
So Ladybug locks Nino and Alya in the cage together. Alya heard Nino say he likes her so she tries to let him down easy.
Nino comes clean and admits he actually really likes Marinette. Everything kind of clicks for Alya and now she feels bad but she lets him know Marinette is hardcore crushing on Adrien. Nino is kind of surprised, he’s like “she’s in love with my bro? She’d be so good for him. Marinette deserves the world so the least I can do is help her out with Adrien.” And because Nino knows Adrien isn’t going to just suddenly go out with Marinette after he admitted to liking her he comes up with a plan.
He asks Alya to pretend to be his girlfriend. That way Adrien will give up on setting him up with Marinette and maybe Marinette can have a shot. Alya thinks this is a super sweet thing for her bestie Nino to do and she’s a real bro so of course she’ll pretend to be his girlfriend.
The fake dating trope ensues.
Whether they end up developing feelings or not is up to you.
