Oh that got me too! Even though Chat Noir is beloved, he’s not nearly to the extent Ladybug is. In the Bubbler they both showed up at the same time yet everyone only chanted Ladybug’s name, and in CopyCat, they so readily believed he was guilty for the crime even though he denied it. I know Adrien wouldn’t ever hold it against LB but I’m sure it brings him down at times. Not to mention there is his family side of things, where he feels like he has to be there for his dad but seems to be making no difference. I really hope by them pointing it out this episode (without REALLY resolving it at all?) that it’ll be properly addressed later on, most likely by either Marinette or Ladybug. 

Which brings me to Ladybug saying “I need you” in that one episode. I think that was REALLY important (which it makes me a bit miffed they left it out of the Eng dub). And then in the Evillustrator episode, I imagine her gushing over him as Marinette made him a bit happy as well. It’s probably why he asked her what she thought of Chat Noir; he wanted to confirm her opinion for himself (and she did so by complimenting both Adrien and Chat). This episode too she called out to Chat specifically for help and also showed concern about Adrien’s well-beling. Definitely good first steps to Marinette eventually ending this dumb idea he has that he isn’t important or needed.
