Marichat for my Cinderella AU. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿ The festival lasts for 5 days, so I hope that’s enough time to justify romantic development.
Marinette is only able to attend close to sundown when all her chores are done, which is also the only time Adrien can turn into Chat. While Marinette will get her carriage and transformed escorts, Adrien gets witty charm and acrobatic strength. (I’m sorry for the lack of puns… I can’t think of them on the fly). For the first three nights, Chat gets to know Marinette better while having fun with her, Nino and Alya. He kinda eats of a lot, much to the other three’s amusement. He vaguely discloses that he is a noble disobeying his curfew and lives in palace, making Nino curious.
On the 4th night, Andre forces Marinette to retire early to complete an errand, otherwise she won’t be allowed to attend the last night. (The last night of the festival ends with a dance.) Alya witnessed this and informed Chat, who visits Marinette when everyone goes home. With some luck (ok maybe a lot, secretly thanks to Tikki), Marinette manages to arrive in time for the dance, wearing the flower from Chat (i didn’t finish the illustration in time so the last image is a little preview hehehe ;D) After the dance, Marinette gifts Chat with a charm bracelet and a platonic kiss since they won’t be seeing each other any more. Adrien decides against revealing himself right away and plans how to marry her into the royal family, while making her like his princely self (which she did but Chat changed that so he’s in a pickle). Of course, Gabriel unintentially screws with his plans later on.

BTW, watched the latest episode in RAW and don’t know half the stuff being said but OH MY GOD. (warning spoilers here) The Ladynoir is through the roof!! *happy dance wiggle* But i think the most important thing is DID CHAT SEE MARINETTE. AND IF HE DID, DID HE SAY THAT HE MISTOOK HER FOR LADYBUG. DOES SHE BRUSH IT OFF SOMEHOW. I NEED TO KNOW. ARGHHHH. then that slow-mo scene, goddammit i swear it looks like CHAT KNOWSSS. I need to re-watch with the subs *ugly whale noises*

So here’s my poorly drawn headcanon on how Marinette freed Chat without him seeing her– based on a small scene where Antibug tilts the pole and he starts to slide off. Their miraculous costumes enhance their bodies and makes them (mostly) invulnerable, so he should be able to land from that height (I mean look at when Climatika threw him across Paris. He’ll be fine).
If he had fallen while still fully tied up… yikes.
