Scorpia keeps doing things against Catra’s wishes “for her own good” and makes sure that Catra knows she does this out of love for her. The first time it happens, Catra snaps at Scorpia, but Scorpia doesn’t budge. All she wants to do is protect Catra right now, and by doing that, she’s defying orders. The second time, Catra snaps again and shuts out Scorpia, and Scorpia respends by wrapping her in a blanket and telling her it’s okay to ask for help. Again, defying Catra’s orders.
the realization in Catra’s eyes on both events hits like a brick because it’s like an “oh…. she’s protecting me”. And very slowly, Catra starts opening up to Scorpia. About her problems. How Scorpia handled what happened when she foudn out about Shadow Weaver escaping? Gold fucking star. now THAT’S a good friend.

which is the argument we’ve aaaaaaaaaaaaaallll been saying since s1. Adora is, yes, Catra’s greatest love, but Scorpia is the love she needs. there’s time to grow, but it won’t be right now.
At this point, I’m not going to be shocked if Scorpia saw Catra in the state she’s in after this season and find a way to get it through her head that they should leave the Horde. Together. As a unit.
And this won’t be because Adora left but because Catra tried and she ended up getting hurt despite it all.
