So I saw a post (I don’t remember who made it) talking about how if the umbrella scene never happened then Marinette wouldn’t have fallen for Adrien and I just wanted to add on a little. Without the umbrella scene, Marinette would also, most likely, hate/disliked Adrien throughout the show, because of her thinking he put the gum on her seat and because she thought he was with chloe,
Most likely causing Adrien to keep trying to get her to like him, like he was doing through out the origin episode
and since Marinette would have been confident and stuff around him, because she doesn’t have a crush on him, he most likely would have developed a crush on her in the process, since thats what he likes about ladybug, resulting in chat noir to not ask ladybug out and be as obvious about his feelings for her. ladybug would probably develop a bit more of a romantic interest in chat, remember how in a webisode she said that if adrien wasn’t in the picture she would’ve given chat noir a chance, she would probably treat him the same way as now, since she does kind of flirt with him and stuff, she may flirt more, maybe act more like chat does now, and chat wouldn’t be as obvious about his interest in ladybug, and would have the same kind of mind set as Marinette currently does, the “if Marinette weren’t in the picture I’d date ladybug,” kind of deal. Oh and nino and alya probably wouldn’t be dating, because, 1, alya wouldn’t date or show interest in her best friend’s enemy’s best friend, and, 2, the reason alya and nino got together was because Marinette agreed to go to the zoo with nino and Adrien because she liked adrien and she wouldn’t have agreed if she didn’t,
and nino and alya showed no interest in eachother before that episode,
carapace wouldn’t even exist since nino became carapace trying to protect and prove himself to his girlfriend, anasi wouldnt have even become akumatized if it weren’t for nino trying to prove himself and go out with alya
And nino would still have that crush he had on Marinette he had before he realized that he liked Alya.
So let’s review, without the umbrella scene:
1. Marinette would dislike Adrien, most likely treating him like she treats Chloe
2. Adrien would constantly be trying to get Marinette to like him as a friend, and develop a crush on her, after seeing her act so confident
3. Ladybug would be more interested in chat
4. Chat would still like ladybug but not ask her out or flirt or anything because of Marinette
5. Alya and nino wouldn’t be together
6. Carapace most likely wouldn’t be nino, if their was a carapace in the show it would probably be someone else
7. Alya, Marinette, nino, And adrien wouldn’t all be friends that hung out together
8. Nino would probably have a crush on Marinette (which may have caused some tension between adrien and nino so that may have affected their relationship too, but who knows maybe in this parallel universe nino knows about Adrien’s crush so he doesn’t tell him or vise versa)
So basically their whole dynamic would be different if it weren’t for that umbrella scene, who knew such a small scene was so important.
Anyway, do you think my prediction was accurate? Did it change your opinion on the umbrella scene? Do you like it more or less than before? Am I just a nerd over analyzing a small cute scene from a kid’s show? I can answer that last one and the answer is

Marinette adores the good place so organises a binge watch session at her place one day for the whole class. Those that can’t make it are pretty much forced to binge watch it by the die-hard fans in the classroom (Alya, Chloe, and Rose are top of list).
This leads to regular discussions over what would get or lose people points. People calling out behaviour with made up point values that were lost. Where everyone would end up in the class. What their good/medium/bad places would look like. All this alongside theorising and conversations on best pairs (Marinette diehard Tahani and Jason, Nino is Jason and Janet, Juleka is Tahani and Eleanor, Adrien strictly observes canon, Nathaniel goes for the crack ships, and Rose is a quiet ‘everyone just hooks up in a giant polyamorous group’ supporter)

Marinette: Guess that’s minus 3 and a half points. Really isn’t looking great for you
Lila: As you are born in France so are French aren’t you automatically in the bad place? Unlike us Italians.
Adrien: I think all she has done would have done enough to make up for that
These types of conversations are constant. Current agreement is Adrien, Rose, and Nathaniel probably in the good place. Chloe, Lila, and Sabrina probably in the bad place. Marinette in medium place. With Alix arguing they are all in the bad place and Marinette and Lila are just demons torturing them all.
Max creates another robot/AI that keeps point totals and announces them randomly. It also autocorrects everyone’s swearing and carries cacti
