Has anyone ever really thought about how usually it’s easy for Ladybug to fight Chat Noir and win?
I mean really we make jokes about it but I found this fic on AO3 that I can’t remember the author’s name but it’s all about how Marinette discovers that Chat Noir is holding back when fighting Ladybug even when he’s mind controlled. If someone knows the name that would be helpful.
But when Chameleon came out I noticed how hard it was for Ladybug to beat the Fake Chat. The fight lasted longer than a previous straight fight in any other episode and Fake Chat literally pinned her down. She was almost beat. That’s when it hit me…..

He’s fighting!
He may not remember it afterward or be fully conscious about what’s happening while taken over but he is definitely fighting against the akuma that’s taken him over. Otherwise how is he so easy for Ladybug to beat? He gets vaulted off a roof or tossed into a river and we know Chat Noir is a skilled fighter. We know he can hold his own as he often does against an akuma. He fought of Darkblade and several of his minions.
He took out a whole squadron of police officers in Rogercop.
In episodes when he gets tossed around for laughs Ladybug never fairs better at a straight up physical fight. She has to out magyver the akuma to win. In a straight up fist fight she loses. She doesn’t win in the end because she’s a better fighter than the akuma. She wins because she’s smart.
She only beat fake Chat because she was clever and saw a way out. If she hadn’t there was nowhere for her to go and I think Chameleon would’ve won. She was so close and literally had Ladybug pinned for a while.
How could an akuma with no previous fighting experience, and I mean non. Her previous two fights had been all illusion based, best Ladybug when an experienced Chat Noir can’t. I mean he has a background in fencing and martial arts before he received a miraculous, one he’s been wielding just as long as Ladybug. No way he’s the better fighter. Lets look at the episodes. In the roughly four episodes he’s been taken over in (I’m not counting Zombiezou or Maledicktator) he never does very well when up against Ladybug. Lets look at Puppeteer first…
Now this frustrates me because Chat Noir knows how to use his staff. He should know about how to use the weight and that this would happen if someone steps on the end. Yet this sends him flying. And she uses the exact same trick in Princess Fragrance.
Now in Dark Cupid it’s a little harder but I chalk that up to two against once cause Chat Noir’s fighting style seems sloppy.
Now that I think about it…it’s always sloppy. In Despair Bear he grabs at her earrings, not even her….
And there’s not enough footage in Zombiou for me to know how he would fight against Ladybug as a kissy zombie. My point is his fighting style changes when he’s controlled. It’s a lot less efficient, like he’s making more work for himself. I don’t know if the writers will ever address this but it’s a theory and it’s my personal headcannon. That fanfic writer was on to something. I mean look at this…

Maybe I’m missing something. Maybe I just want to believe my kitten is a better fighter than the show sometimes protrays him as. Maybe I’m just tired cause writing this at 1 am. But it makes sense to me and it’s a theory I’m sticking with. That fanfic writer had a point.

Let’s starts of with lila coming back, damn she’s back and mean as ever. Seriously a horrible person but an interesting one like she’s actually willing to get akumatized.
I’m actually looking foward to what she’ll bring to the table next :)

And this scene was really sweet like he told mari not to take revenge on lila and HE EVEN SAID ‘as long as you and me know the truth, does it really matter’ AWWWWW like dude if like lila was gonna ever hurt mari he’ll be able to step in and protect her in a way cause you know he knows the truth and he is on mari’s side
AND WOOO BOY THIS WAS THE KILLER SCENE

Firstly, I’m 100% sure like adrien is definetely developing feelings for mari like LOOK at the way he looks at her, like he blushes and smiles and even took the initiative to sit right next to her
and HAHA SHIT I GOTTA ADD ON
Look at how unhappy he looks with lila and even asked to change seats to get away from her HABSUEBE
I can’t wait for more adrienette development and I bet everyone is too
Okay so this final straw was sososos good like marinette is really gaining confidence and I love it like she knows she’s gonna win eventually
